Celeste

Kari the lead lady at 'This Old Wound' passed on Celeste's tattoo to me. Unfortunately Celeste lost contact with us so i don't know her last name or have a proper personal story to post but it's just such a great tat and a shame to not put up so here it is! (Celeste drop us a line sometime DBCTattoo@gmail.com)

Celeste, 21, from texas!

"I was actually lucky enough to show chris my tattoo in october when he played in houston. and he mentions my tattoo on his myspace blog.

its of a cassette tape with the tape unraveling saying "ender will save us".

a few months ago this guy from the dc website found me on myspace and told me how he had met chris and they were talking about dashboard tattoos and chris had a picture of the dashboard tattoo i got on his cell phone and said his brother showed it to him on the website and he took a photo of it because it was his favorite dashboard tattoo. so if you read his blog he mentions the most original one he had seen yet but "must admitt i had seen it before on the website" =)

i came up with the idea but cant draw at all a friend who does my tatttoos was able to put it together for me. my idea his art work. im glad i got it tho. dashboard has had such an impact on my life."

Awesome!

Have a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from everyone hear at the 'DC Tattoos' site.

Allison Baker

Got this sent to me a while back from Allison Baker. Sorry it slipped past me for a while!

"Hey there, my name's Allie and i'm 18 from Cape Cod, MA. This is the brotat i share with Stacey, Christina, and Brian. Stacey explained most of our story... we decided to get this tattoo on the way to one of the many shows that we go to together. We were all talking about how Dashboard has saved us, and made us better, so the line from End of an Anchor fit perfectly. This tattoo is an every day reminder of how much Dashboard means to me, and to all of us. thanks for making this site!"

An awesome brotat! Love it!

Danielle Calderone

A simplisctic yet awesome Tattoo sent in from Danielle Calderone:

Hey! My name is Danielle, and I live in Illinois. I I have been aware of Dashboard for the last 7 or 8 years, but I haven't been a true fan until the last year. Because I'm older and have gone through a lot more, I can relate to Chris' lyrics as of late. So it's just been in the last year that I have really gotten attached to dashboard confessional. I always wanted a tattoo, I just never knew what. I was on the way to Summerfest, and it just came to me. There are tons of personal reasons why I got this tattoo, and it does have multiple meanings, but it all stems from my love for Dashboard confessional. I'm planning on a bigger one as a tribute to dashboard, but I haven't figured out just what and where I want it. I love Dashboard Confessional and I love this damn tattoo! It's on my left wrist.

Awesome tat Danielle! Thanks!

Nikki Elliott

Kari who is a new member of the 'This Old Wound' team, forwarded this email to me. Its from Nikki Elliott (22) from Belpre, OH.

"I've been a fan of Dashboard since early 2003. Chris' words have always been an inspiration for me. Always there to comfort and inspire me. Every song is like poetry and I can't even name a favorite any more, I just adore them all. I had been juggling the idea of a DC related tattoo for years but never really knew what I wanted.

I had a few ideas but nothing ever stuck. I knew I wanted something with lyrics and I knew I wanted something cute and girly. My first DC concert was one in Columbus, OH where they actually were opening for Beck. It was just amazing. It was so surreal to see this man that owed so much to, standing there baring his soul for me. One of the first songs he sang was 'Remember to Breathe' and it just really stuck with me throughout the years. It's just a constant r
eminder to take life slow and to try to keep a calm head amongst life's chaos.

My life has been really hard and sometimes it's difficult not to give into negative thoughts and depression but my tattoo is a reassurance that things will get easier in time.
Although now it seems a bit trite as a lot of people have 'Remember to Breathe' tattoo'd on them, my tattoo means a lot to me and always will. Along with the DC meaning behind it, my best friend actually made the star design, so I'll always be reminded of our friendship. I'm running a few more DC tat ideas around in my head and will hopefully get at least two more in the next few years."

Great tattoo! Thanks Nikki.

Anna Enriquez

This is a two for one special from Anna Enriquez from Tuscon, Arizona.

"My name is Anna.. I saw you started a website for Dash tattoos..Brilliant!
So here are my pictures and the stories behind them

The "Remember to Breathe" tattoo was my first Dash tat .... This has always been my favorite Dashboard song of all time. This is actually the first Song I ever heard from Dashboard. Something about the way he sang the song caught my attention and I had to hear every song I could get my hands on from them. And now I am a mega fan! I thought it only fitting to make it a permanent part of me so everyone can see.

My Trace the Scars to Fit the Pieces tattoo took a bit longer to decide on. I wanted to get something that was a tribute to Chris and his amazing ability to write and share part of himself with all of us... so the lyrics came to my mind first and then I thought of the signature inside the puzzle pieces would tie it all together.
Hope this helps out the site... I will be sure to check back when I get another!

Anna Enriquez"

Keep 'em coming people!

Amanda Catron

Just received an email from Amanda Catron (19) from Columbus, OH. Her story is really touching! I think we can all be inspired from it:

"As soon as I saw the apple image I knew I wanted it on my body! I got it exactly a week after the new album came out, but it's more of a tribute as to how Chris' songs have helped me through some hard times (like everyone else, I suppose). The apple, for me, represents a year in my life when the bottom fell out of everything (my mom left and my father was diagnosed with cancer) and that was the year that I discovered Dashboard Confessional. Without those songs...I don't think I'd be here today. Thus, this tattoo represents the fact that the bottom may fall out of everything, but in the end everything will be okay. Of course, it's a work in progress and I plan to add lyrics and more whenever I have more money!"

Thanks Amanda!

Stay safe everyone.

Stacey Brennan

I've just opened my email to the first tattoo sent in for the website. It's from Stacey Brennan (18) from Cape Cod, MA.

Here is her story:

"Hey, I saw the thread on the boards so Im sending you a pic of my dashboard tat. It's a brotat with three other people, Brian, Allie, and Christina, and we got it after discussing how dashboard has helped us. We chose the anchor because the lyrics are from the song 'end of an anchor'...all of ours are a little different but have the same concept, the lyrics "im better now I swear" around an anchor....so heres a pic!"

Thanks Stacey!

Keep sending in your 'tats' people!
